Recently, I traveled to Edmonton where I had the great fortune to take in several exceptional dining experiences. The first of which was the famous Cactus Club Café. For starters,we indulged in lettuce wraps which consisted of a delectable mixture of chicken and vegetables immersed in a bath of herbs, spices and a pea-nutty sauce which we placed into our leafy greens. It was an average dish in comparison to my other culinary experiences and I am giving it the grade of 3.5/5.

For my main course, I chose the butternut ravioli which was served in a creamy sauce with a hint of lemon. It was a delicious fresh pasta with a savoury taste. I would most definitely give it the rating of 4.5/5.

The final course was an amazing molten lava cake which was the perfect combination of bitter chocolate and sweetness served with a creamy vanilla ice-cream and a raspberry compote. Yes, it was perfect, thus, I do give it a 5/5.

The second restaurant that I will be reviewing is the Melting Pot. Appetizers consisted of a 4 cheese fondue and a baked potato cheese fondue served with fresh pumpernickel and french bread, apples and veggies. The amount of cheese given was a disappointing factor giving itself a 4.5/5.

The contents of the entrè consisted of two different broths served with an assortment of fresh raw meats and veggies that we cooked ourselves in the blistering hot spicy broth. It was a ROYAL experience (giving it and 5/5).

We ended the meal of with the original chocolate fondue whisked with a spoonful of peanut butter along with the S’more chocolate fondue which had bits of graham crackers mixed thoroughly through out it. It was served to us with a platter of fruit and goodies, giving a mark of 5/5.
